Gotta catch 'em all!! NOTD!

So I decided to change up my nailpolish today. I  chose a cute little pokemon pokeball design, its not perfect and I definatey need to practice at it, but it is also quite an easy thing to do. A white base with a red tp and a silver dot. The difficult bit is the black line around the glittery silver dot.In hindsight, I probably should have used a cocktail stick to do the black line, but now I know for next time!!
I hope you guys like it! Let me know!!

Kristen Stewart inspired black smokey eye!

So Iv been googling a lot lately, as Im going to see Glee Live on Sunday, and though I don't have my outfit sorted out yet, to me makeup is more important!! I was searching random celebrities for make-up looks, and I stumbled accross a photo of Kirsten Stewart at a red carpet event. She was wearing a pretty matte black smokey eye with a nude lip. Her skin looked flawless and she had very little blush on. So thats the look I decided to recreate today!
It was incredibly quick and simple, and it really didn't call for too many products. I used two shadows on the eye and some liner and mascara, foundation, powder, lipstick and lipgloss. Blush was very minimal and I amped up the lip a little bit by adding a bright pink gloss over the nude lip. This look is perfect for a night out, and its really quick, especially if you're going straight out from work or school, you can just toss your shadows and gloss in your bag and you're set!
All products will be listed below as usual, please let me know what you guys think, if I get a goo response I think I'll wear it to Glee Live on Sunday!!

Katy Perry for GHD colour blocking inspired look!

So recently when I was out shopping, I walked by Peter Mark on Grafton Street and saw the new GHD's in the window. Behind thme was a massive picture of Katy Perry, wearing a bright, eighties style look. I knew I had to try to recreate it. Its not the most wearable look in the world and Im not too sure if I will be wearing it out, Iv already gotten a couple of funny looks from my Mam and my sister, but they know me all too well to comment!
I think this look would be great for a party or a night out, or by anyone who likes to attract a little bit of attention :) The pictures don't really do the brightness of the colours justice as the lighting kind of washes it out, but you get the general idea.

Products used:
Revlon Colourstay Foundation
Revlon Colourstay concealor
Max Factor Creme Puff Powder
Nars Orgasm blush on the apples
MAC Love Thing blush to contour
Urban Decay Primer potion
Urban Decay Pencil liner in Electric all over the lid as a base
Bright blue from the collection 2000 Poptastic pallette on the lid
Deep purple from the Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer Pallette on the lid
LimeGreen from the Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer pallette up to the brow bone
Dark brown shadow to fill in the brows
Natural Collection white liner on the waterline
Loreal Paris Liquid Liner in Carbon Black
Loreal Teliscopic mascara
Maybelline Falsies Mascara
Revlon Lipstick in Wild Orchid

I blended my lime green outa little more than Katy Perry's was in the picture to make it a teeny bit more wearable, let me know what you guys think!

Bright Lips For summer!!

As Iv mentioned before, bright lips are something I constantly sport and I love them. I don'y mind going a bit overboard and wearing dark shadow with adark lip. I think confidence can pull off anything. Here's a few of my favorite lip looks for summer time, and year round really!
The classic red lip is my all time favorite, but you've seen me wear it so many times theres not much point in putting it in here again.

Here is a bright neon pink by Barry M. I love this colur, its so fun and gets a lot of great compliments. Its called Barry M 52.

Next is this pretty coral colour. It looks really nice with a shimmery gold eye, especially if you have a bit of a tan. The lipstick I used here is Maybelline New York 420 Coral Pop. I used a gloss over it by Rimmel London called Fashion Icon.

This lip is a purple colour withsome blueish undertones. It looks really pretty when it catches the light and I think it would look really good on pretty much any skin tone. The colour is 457 Wild Orchid, by Revlon.

This is a bit of a wild choice and can sometimes look very Gothic, but if Jesse J can sport it, So can we! This black lipstick looks great with a smokey eye or a nude eye with big fake lashes. You will definately turn heads as this is a brave choice. This ipstick is by ltimate colour and it is 240 Breakfast at Tiffany's.

This is more a a sugar plum barbie pink than the other pink. Its very sweet and very wearable with pretty much any look. Perfect for girls who like a pop of colour but still like to play it safe. The colour I used here is Collection 2000 Pink Shock.

Here I have used a Benefit Colour called Cndy Store. Its a pretty sparkly lipstick that glides on and has a gossy consistancy on the lips. Its very pretty but I wouldn't reccommend it fr a hot day as it feels like it may melt down. It looks lovelyon and Iv gotten a lot of compliments on it.

Finally, anotherBenefit colour called Guilt Free. I love this colour. Its a reddish burgundy with some gold shine to it. It looks very pretty with brown or gold shadow on the eyes. It is a similar consistency to the previous lipstick, so again, I wouldn't wear it on a very hot day, but Ireland doesn't get many of those so Im grand!!

I really hope you guys enjoyed this. Leave me a comment telling me what your favorite lipsticks are for Summer so I can try them out! Let me know what you think :)

Haul! Boots, New Look, Schuh, TK Maxx

So I did quite well out of the thirt quid I had this weekend!! I ended up with a new foundation, a new pallette, some dry shampoo, Some facepaint sticks, two pairs of shoes and four new tops!!
Now, I know I seem like some sort of shopping goddess, bargain hunting queen, but in actual fact, I was spoiled this weekend! My mam got be the shirts for my holidays, I bought the makeup and a pair of shoes, and my boyfriend bought me a pair of shoes. But its not a bad thing to have people spoil you once in a while, right??
So, without further adue, this is what I got this weekend!

Revlon Colourstay foundation. Its the palest shade they do and it matches me perfectly. Its a bit exspensive for drugstore foundation but when I have the extra cash I always go straight for it. Its by far the best foundation Iv ever tried. Be warned though, it dries very fast so work quickly!! I think it was about 18 euro in boots.

Brown wedges. I went to a togo prty for my friends eighteenth birthday recently and saw these in New Look before I went. I was all ready toget them to wear with my little white 'toga' mini dress but they didn't hve my size. WhenI saw them in my size on Saturday I couldn't pass them up. They were 32 euro.

Boots Brand Dry Shampoo. I saw this when I was at the checkout, and it was on sale for a euro fifty. I couldn't pass it up because its such a handy thing to have on your dressing table!

Collection 2000 pallette. My idea behind this purchase was that it is a little similar to the flash pallettes Iv seen used in many tutorials on Youtube. I havent been able to find them anywhere in Dublin, so I thought this was a cheap alternative. I think it was around six euro.

These are the tops my Mam bought for me in TK Maxx for my holidays. They were each 17 euro. Except the pink t shirt, which was 9.99 Im sorry I can't put the brands because I took the tags off.

This is the real main event of this post though. I had been eyeing up this shoes in Schuh since the middle of March. Every time I walked past I drooled in the window at them. I even went in to try them on a couple of times but I could never afford them. My wonderful boyfriend came to the rescue and got them for me on Friday. Schuh, 85 euro, and worth every penney of it.

I hope you guys liked that. Sorry the pictures aren't great the lighting is bad. Let me know what you all think!!

Love,
Hazel xxxxx

Vampy Blues, Blacks and Purples

So seeing as tomorrow is the LGBT Pride Parade in Dblin, and I will be going to support some of my friends, I have a really exciting rainbow look planned fo my entire face. Seeing as its going to be rainbowbright colour overload tomorrow, I decided to go on the opposite end of the spectrum today. I did a vampy, rock chic inspired look using deep purples, blues and some black. Though the photo didn't show it very well, I have a two toned, black and deep purple lip.
As I am fairly girly and no really gothic at all, (though I think girls who can pull of the gothic style are absolutely beautiful)  I paie this look with a black bowler hat, a white silky blouse with ruffles, dark wash denim high waist shorts, a lacey little bolero thing, black tights and a super cute pair of wedges from New Look ( I love them, hey're adorable and so comfortabe!!) As Ireland is still quie cold atm, Im going to wear a little blazer I got a while ago in penneys. It kind of ties in the Rock chick look into the outfit. It has silver buttons and some silver chain detailing on the shoulders.
I'll list the products that I used below, if anyone has any feedback or suggestions, I'd love if you would let me know!!

Black Smokey eye!

So today I decided to do things a little differently, I opted for a black smokey eye and a pinky- nude lip. I thought that because this is something I don't do very often that it would be a nice change.
This look is perfect for a night out, it is slightly harsh and dramatic fo day time but te right outfit could completely pull it off. I would reccomend applying your shadow before your foundation as the black shadow can produces quite a lot of fall out, so its much easier to clean up the mess on your skin rather than mess up your foundation.
If I were wearing this look out, I would probably apply false lashes. But since Im home today and the furthest I'll be going is the Londis down the road, I didn't really see the point.
Also, I would like to point out that though I am a massive fan of colourful lips and I usually always incorporate a bold lip into all o my make-up looks, a nude lip may look better than a bright colour with this as you already have so much going on with the eyes. I would only do a bold lip if I were going to a party or another social event like that, and I would stay away from red as you don't want to be mistaken for a 'working girl'. If I were to do a bold lip I would probably go with 'Full Fuschia' which is a bright pink or 'Rebel' a deep purple, by MAC.

I really hope you like this look, please let me know what you think!!

Wednesday 22 June 2011

As an exstension o my previous post, I thought I'd do a modern day, Audrey Hepburn type look, but with a twist. The products used are the same as my previous post also. This look isn't really for the faint hearted. The double wing creates a gorgeous cat eye effect, elogates the eyes and makes them appear bigger. The shadow was very simple, just a sparkly white from the lid to the brow bone. The difficult bit about the liner was making the two sides even. It takes a bit of practice and some rubbing out and re-drawing before it looks good. I really like this look, its dramatic for a night out but its not too dark, it stills plays the the 1950's theme that I absolutely love.
If you didn't want to pair this liner look with the dramatic red lip, I would suggest either a nude colour, while adding more black liner to the bottom lashline than I have in the picture. I used white liner on my lower lash line and waterline.
Also, I would stay away from the look if I had a particularly small space between my eye and eyebrow, or if my eyes were quite small. I would also stay away from it if my eyes were more of an almond shape, as this would make eyes appear smaller.
Also, I found that at certain angles, it can look a little bit like very curly, drawn on second eyebrows, but Im cool with that :)

I really hope you like the look, I'd love if you would let me know what you think!!!

Much apologies for the grumpy look on my face!!

I took these pictures on my webcam so they're at quite an odd angle, please ignore the fact that I look a bit like nearly headless Nick from Harry Potter!

Fifties Inspired Dramatic Wing

At the moment Im doing a little job for the week, where Im applying dramatic SFX make-up for a theatre production of Dracula. Today is the second last show and a TV company is coming in to film a bit. When I heard that there was a chance of being on the telly, my mind went into overdrive and my first thought was what make-up would be most flattering!! I went formy dramatic red lip, which is usually my go-to look. I paired it today with a very dramatic cat eye, which completely changed my eye shape. I went easy on the shadow, using a pale white shadow with a light brown in the crease and dark brown in the outer corner. I lined my waterline with white liner for the big, doll-eyed effect. I added lashings of mascara and the bold red lip. It was quick and easy and usually I get a lot of compliments. I have rather large lips and I like to playthem up with bright colours. This is such a simple look to re create, the only difficult bit is the dramatic wing, which can take a bit of practice to perfect.
I added a colourful scarf tied in a bow around my head and pinned up the rest of my hair at the back. Its a rainy day today so I couldn't risk looking like a wet dog by the time I get the bus into town, so hair up was the safest option today!
I'll leave the products I sed with some photo's below, I'd love any feedback you guys might have for me <3

Pretty Pinks and Purples for a sunny day

So when I woke up bright and early this morning I was both equally shocked and delighted to see that the weather is half decent. So I decided ot make the most of it and do a pretty, summery pink and purple look. This is out of the ordinary for me, even in summer I usually stick to dark eyeshadow looks, I just fel they suit me more. I did cheat a little with my summery look and did a dark plummy purple smokey eye. My lip is a fun two-tone today. A more girlish take on what I like to call my 'Frakenfurter' or 'Drag-Queen' lip. The outsid of my mouth is lined with hot pink liner. The outer corner of my top and bottom lips is filled with a hot pink colour, which fades into a more bubble gum princess, Barbie pink in the centre. Again, quite a bold look for those who like to stand out a little bit. But its easily toned down. I find that plummy, purple shadows suit dark eyes like mine.
My hair is different than usual today too. I opted for a flirty up-do. Inspired by a Meganheartsmakeup Youtube tutorial on a Rihanna look. I pulled my hair back into a medium ponytail, curl the pony and basically piled it up on top of my head. I finished it off with a little lacyscarf tied around. Its a bit refreshing for me, and I like it because you can actually see my Scaffold piercing, which is usually hidden by my long hair.
I hope you like this look, I will list all products I used below :)

A mixture of Catrice Cosmetics Infinate Matte Foundaton and Maybelline 24 hour Superstay

A dark brown shadow to fill in my brows
Rimmel London lip pencil in Fuschia
Mac Full Fuschia lipstick in the outer corner
Mac Viva Glam Gaga on the centre

Summer Look!

Seeing as the summer has just begun, and though it doesn't feel like it wit all the rainy weather, we have the chace now that we're out of the uniforms for three months, to go a bit mad with our make-up. Personally I am very partial to Rockabilly and 1950's glamour make-up. I usually incorporate some winged eyeliner and a bold lip into all of my makeup looks. Today was no different. I did a toned down, day time smokey eye with a bold red lip. I know this might seem a bit dramatic for day time for some people, but in my opinion its a very easy look to change up a bit, toning down the shadow in the crease and applying a cherry lip gloss instead of the bright red lipstick. I'll list all products used below. Hope you like it!!

A mixture of Catrice Cosmetics Infinate Matte Foundaton and Maybelline 24 hour Superstay
Maybelline 24 hour Superstay concealer
Max Factor Creme Puff Powder
Mac Dollymix Blush

Mac Beauty Marked eyeshadow in th crease
Mac Mylar on the highlight
dark brown shadow to fill in my brows
Loreal Carbon Black Lineur Intense
Loreal Teliscopic mascara
Gosh lip pencil in Simply Red
Rimmel London lipstick in Diva Red
