Review on Revlon Colourstay lipstain!

Hey guys!! Sorry I haven't posted in a while, Im in Florida at the moment so blog posts and video's are hard for me to do. f you guys don't know already, Iv got a Youtube channel now, if you want to check it out, Im only getting the hang of it, and at the moment it feels like Iv filmed lots of hauls, because its so difficult or me to film tutorials in Florida, but Id love if you guys would give me your feedback!!
So, one of the things Iv hauled while I was on holiday has been this lipgloss.

Revlon colourstay overtime lipcolour in the colour perennial plum.

Its more ofa lipstain than agloss, and it has been a complete lifesaver in the Florida sunshine. It doesn't bleed or crack into fine lines around your lips, and it stays on all day long! It comes in a range of different coours and I definately think I'll get a couple of different shades.

The first picture is the stain matte, on its own without any gloss over it. The econd picture is the stain with gloss. The lip product comes with the stain on one end, and a clear gloss on the other. I have found that the stain can be very drying on th lips without the gloss over it.
I definately reccommend this lip product, check them out and picka colour that suits you, if you do, let me know what one you picked so I can give it a go!!

Hope you guys enjoyed this!
Love Hazel xoxo

Youtube Channel!!

Hi guys! Just wanted to let you know that Iv started a Youtube channel if you'd like to take a look. Its going to be mostly beauty video's, with a few reviews and hauls. Im only starting out so I still need to figure out the best lighting and filming set up (Currently its natural light, with my picture taking camera set on video balanced on a pile of books, on my laptop on my bed!) but I make do!!
Id really love if you could check out my first video and give me any feedback on it, and maybe some requests of what you'd like to see in the future? I love hearing from you guys!
Do let me know if you check it out, Im uploading my first video as I type this so if there's no video when you have a look, its just not gone live yet, Iv been going mad trying to film and upload all day, and the damn internet keeps disconnecting as soon as the upload finishes!
The link is below, do check it out if you get a spare minute, it would mean the world to me!

Mini Haul! New Look, Penneys, Arnotts

Shopping Shopping shopping... I need to stop! These are a few bits I got over the weekend. I got a couple of things, and I made the mistake of going into New Look. I have never left that shop without buying something, and its usually a pair of shoes. Shoes are a bit of an obsession of mine...
Though I only got five things, and I can't show one of them because they're in the wash, its an adorable little pair of frilly white ankle socks, like the ones we all wore when we were little, or for those of us who made their Holy Communion. You all know what type Im talking about Im sure.
Okay, so on with the mini haul!! I hope you guys like this, and please let me know if there's anything you think I should cover in my posts or any looks you would like me to recreate, if you link me to a picture I'd love to do that!!!
I love your feedback :)

First, I got this cute leather jacket in Arnotts. I couldn't pass it up, not only because it wasso adorable but also because it was such a great deal! The original price was 69.99 euro, then reduced to 49.99, and I got it for twenty euro!! Its really soft leather and I love the feminine touch with the ruffled shoulders. The zipper is really cute too, when its zipped up it goes into a V neck, rather than all the way up to your neck like most jackets. This will definately be a staple item in my wardrobe for quite a while!!

Next are these nude shoes from New Look. They have a medium heel and are quite comfortable and easy to walk around in. The have a strap across the front too with a gold clasp. I justified getting this pair of shes as they were pretty cheap, only 24.99, and a pair of nude shoes are kind of a necessity. (Right?)

This next bag was a present from my sister. I helped her pick some stuff for our holidays next week (She HATES shopping) And she sort of, rewarded me with this bag. I got it in Penneys for nine euro. I love it because it looks so old fashioned and vintage, it kind of reminds me of those box bags people carried around in the war to keep their gas masks in. Its quite strong and durable, and pretty good quality for Penneys!
This last purchase was a sort of jokey gift from my sister too. They were 2.50 and we saw the right ny the check out as we were going to pay for our stuff. She knows me so well! They're funky little false eyelashes with a band of rainbow diamonds across the band. I think they're adorable and really fun for nights out or fun parties. Obviously they're synthetic lashes, and because they cost two fifty, the quality isn't amazing, but its pretty good. Iv worn Penneys lashes before and Iv found they blend well with your regular lashes and they're easy to apply.

So that was my little haul, please let me know what you think, I'd love to hear from you!
Lots of love,
Hazel xxxxx

Mean girls...

So something interesting happened last night. I was on facebook, surfing around pages as normal, and went onto a page of a girl at my school. She and another girl had posted what I can only describe as a rant on their wall on facebook. When I read through the comments, I realised it was about me. The reasoning behind the nasty comments were I had posted a jokey staus about the new Harry Potter film. It was taken the wrong way by these girls, so they decided to write nasty comments, publically on facebook.

At first, when I read what was written there, I was immediately angry. I felt like retaliating and posting on my own wall, as a way to get back. Of course, I snapped out of that quickly and ddn't stoop to that level. After the anger had passed a little bit, I got upset. The girls used to be really close friends of mine, not even a year ago. One of them was my very best friend. I as hurt by the mean comments because I felt like they were trying to chip away at any confidence I had built up since we had stopped being friends and the cattiness had started. They wrote about my make-up skills, my personal hygiene (Or lack there of, as far as they were concerned) My apparent 'sexual relationship' with my boyfriend, amongst other things.

There was one comment that really got to me though It said I had no friends, and that they would 'Get their revenge' For a minute, I was scared, in  September I have to see these people every day, for a year. I was really hurt, worried, and angry. I managed to laugh it off, my friends and boyfriend did defend me in their own ways too.

Im not writing this post for sympathy, I just want to get it out there that, if anyone out there has ever been made feel that way, It Will Get Better. You're really not on your own. If anyone out there is experiencing bullying or cattiness in this way, the best way to deal with it is to laugh it off. Remember, if you don't retaliate, chances are they will move on to someone else.

I believe that the nasty behavior between girls is so unnecessary. I know I personally would never resort to foul language to express anger. I would also never associate with someone who did. Now, Im not a prude, everyone swears, but there's a difference between swearing, and insulting someone publically to try to humiliate them.

Basically, the point to this post is to promote unity between women. Women had to fight fo long enough to be treated as equals, so why would we try to push eachother down? And to anyone out there who has ever felt personally victimised, I sympathise with you, and Im here for you <3

I love you all,

Simple brown smokey look with red lips!

So I sort of planned my makeup around my outfit today. It was inspired by a Pixiwoo video (I'll link it at the bottom, they have such a HUGE following and they deserve, I really aspire to be like them) It was a Pamela Anderson look and I thought it was so pretty. In the tutorial, the look was shown with a Pinky nude lip.  started out with that and changed my mind when I put my dress on. I thought red lips suited the look of the day so much more.
I wore a pretty white vintage laced up at either side of the waist with white ribbon, I paired it with red T bar shoes and frilly white ankle socks. I wore a black leather jacket with the outfit and put a headscarf my head, tied in a bow.
The eye look was really simple and very versitile. The tutorial explains it better than I ever could, but the smudging and blending in the look really is the trick to it. It takes about ten minutes the first time if you're following steps, but could be done super fast with practice. I think it looks lovely paired with the nude lip too.

Here's the link to the Pixiwoo video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_3zVWkWurk&feature=feedu

As this look can be so easily recreated, and it explains a lotof it in the tutorial, Im not going to list the products I used, but if you're curious, please ask!
I'd love for you to let me know what you think!! <3

My tope five mascara picks!!

So, seeing as Iv actually had people stop meon the street to ask if I wear fake lashes, and when I answer no, they always ask what mascara I use, I decided to tell you guys my top mascara's. I have naturally long, curled lashes but I love to get them as thick and full and curled as possible without applying falsies. The products below have all been part of my collection for quite som time, and they are tried and true. I reccommend all of them, just some slightly higher than others. So, without further rambling, lets get into it!!

5. Big fatty mascara by Urban decay.
Besides the fact that the packaging is absolutely gorgeous, is got a massive wand that gives great thickness. This wasn't a mascara I chose myself but one my brother got for me for Christmas, as a result of a pushy Urban Decay sales assistant! He chose correctly though. Its jet black and it really curls the lashes. The only thing I dislike is that it doesn't add much length. I also think that I wouldn't particularly like it if I had short lashes as the large wand would be hard to manouver.

4. Maybelline Lash Stilletto.
My boyfriend treated me to this a while back, and in his lack of knowledge about makeu, he ran into boots and pickedvup the first one he saw. When I opened it we realised that it was brown mascara. Something that has never really appealed to me as my lashes and eyebrows are naturally jet black. I tried it out though, and it gave lovely length and spread the lashes without making them look spidery. I think if I had hav got it in black it would be higher in my favorites and used more often. Its perfect for throwing on in the morning before school though as it looks quite natural when applied, which is important for me as my school has a strict no makeup rule.

3.Benefit Bad Gal Lash.
This mascara was my number one for over a year. Iv gone through four tubes of it and for a long time I thought it was my holy grail, until I branched out and started to buy more and more makeup. It has, like the Urban Decay mascara, a huge wand, so its great for volume and curl. It adds a little bit of length too. It really is a fabulous little product and will always have its place in my collection, but as of recently it haas been pushed aside and replaced by other products. I do highly reccommend it.

2. Loreal Telliscopic.
I think pretty much everyone has tried Loreal Telliscopic or at least heard the hype around it. I had to pick it up and I must say, all of the good reviews I heard about it are completely true. It gives huge length and curl in just one coat. Perfect for girls with shorter lashes, or blonde lashes as the skinny wand is great for coating the whole lash and manouvering around the eye. It grabs all the babylashes, it doesn't clump and it doesn't smudge.

1.Maybelline Falsies.
My new baby. It is my absolute favorite mascara. The wand is curved so its great for adding curl. I gives huge length and volume. It doesn't smudge, it doesn't run, it doesn't clump. I really is the holy grail product for lashes. I absolutely reccommend it to anyone. Its also pretty affordable and widely available. I can't say enough good things about this product. I love to layer it with Loreal Telliscopic for extra length too. This is definately something I would re-purchase again and again. It will always have a place in my kit and in my collection. I love it!!

So that was my little review, I hope you guys all enjoyed it and got something out of it. Let me know if you've tried any of these products and tell me what you thought of them. Also, let me know in the comments what your favorite mascara is, I'm always in the market for new things!!!

Girly purple glitter!

So as I said yesterday, I decided to do a pretty, girly, glittery look today, winged out a bit at the side. With  pinky purple lip. It was fast and simple, but a little bit uncomfortable on the eyes all day.
I used rather large cosmetic glitter, which I purchased from the Hello Kitty shop in Georges Street Arcade. Its purple. I applied it to my eyes over purple shadow by dabbing a little bit of false lash glue on to my lid and quickly tapping the glitter on top. It worked pretty well and the glitter stayed on my eyes all day. I would, however, be wary of doing this if your eyes are easily irritated. I also wouldn't do it very often and it can't be very good for your eyelids.
I applied a little bit of black liquid liner on the lid and drew a little winged out shape around the sparkles to finish off the look. I then applied a little bit of a light purple lipstick and some pink blush.

I hope you guys like this one, I got a lot of compliments on it and its a really fun look to do :) Be sure to let me know what you think!

Tuesday 5 July 2011

As of recently, Iv been feeling a little bit braver than usual. Today I was heading into town with some friends for a coffee and a mosey around in the sunshine so I decided, again, to do a bit of a rocker-chic look with a blck lip. The black lip really is a personal thing, and people either love it or hate it. I for one, love it :)
The eye was inspired by Kim Kardashian, but a little more silver than the brown she usually sports. If I had been following the look through I wouled have used a nude lipstick, (Revlon do a lovely one called Just Enough Buff) with a nude gloss (I would use Baby Sparks from MAC) But I just couldn't tear myself away from the black lipstick for today. I know this probably isn't to everyone's taste, but black lips are becoming increasingly popular as they are Jessie J's trade mark.
I hope yu like this one, I'll probably do something a bit prettier and more girly tomorrow. Please let me know if you have ay feedback or requests!!

Leopard print eyes!

So seeing as the tribal trend is so popular at the moment I decided to jump on the band wagon! I was feeling a little bit bold and daring today so I  did something fun and different. The eye started out as a shimmery gold eye, with a dark colour on the lid and bright in the crease. After that I decided to go one step further and drew a little leopard print pattern throughout the crease. Its a really fun look to do! It doesn't take up very much time and its fairly easy. All you need is a steady hand and a liquid liner with a stiff brush. For an extra dramatc effect I did black lips. Obviously this is optional. It took me about fifteen minutes to completely do my make-up from start to finish, which isn't bad for a quie intricate look!
For the leopard print design on the eyes, a little tip is to rest your elbow on a flat surface to steady your arm and make sure there's not too much product on your liner wand. then you just draw a few dots, circles and half circles. Both eyes don't have to be identical!
I hope you guys like this look, let me know in the comments if you have any requests or recreations you would like me to do, and, what's your favorite daring look?

Copper and gold -Megan Fox inspired look!

So I decided today to do something pretty quick and simple, that I knew would last throughout the day. It was actually warm and sunny in Dublin today (Hopefully it holds out tomorrow, Im going to the beach!) So I needed something that wouldn't melt off in the heat. I chose a pretty, sparkly Megan Fox inspired look, which worked qite well for me because though I don't have her gorgeous figure, pretty tan and fabulous eyes, I have got long black hair and full, dark brows. I paired the coppery coloured eye with a bright fuschia lip, and went easy on the cheeks.  used a sparkly bronzer as blush, and I was ready to go! This look required minimal makeup and took me roughly fifteen minutes, it lasted all day and didn't melt or crease. It also made my eyes pop because the shadows contrasted nicely with my brown eyes.
All products I used are listed here, let me know what you think, and if you try it out send me a picture!

Chanel loose powder
Hard candy bronzer as blush in 130 tropics

Btw, I am aware that I have a silly face, Im not the prettiest girl in theworld, and definately NOT most photogenic :)
